Step 1: CEU Requirements

Obtaining Continuing education (CE) units for the NCRW Certification and Recertification

NCRW Candidates: Report 10 Continuing Education (CEU) units that you have earned within the 3 years prior to taking the NCRW Exam to the CEU Admin Manager.  Please maintain your own personal CEU file so that any record-keeping discrepancies can be quickly resolved.

Maintaining Certification: Once you have achieved NCRW status, your designation is valid for three years. To retain your certification, you must maintain continuous membership in the NRWA and earn at least 15 CEUs between three-year renewals.

As of June 1, 2019, all ten (10) CEUs gathered to take the NCRW test must be in-house CEUs and cannot be self-generated. Self-generated are activities conducted such as classes taught, presentations made to groups, books written. Acceptable in-house CEUs are earned from attending the NRWA conference, Writing Excellence course, webinars, and book reports from the approved book list.
